Chris and I had a surprise visit from Julie and Rafa during our week stay in Washougal.
They were given airplane mileage points from some friends who could not use them because of the soon to be expiration date. Julie called us to make sure we were in Washington and then booked a flight for the weekend. It was unexpected but I am glad they were able to make the short trip.
We went to the Oregon Coast for a day trip and visited the Meare Lighthouse (one of the few Oregon lighthouses left on the coast)
walked along the beach (we saw a jelly fish on the sand!)
and visited Tillamook Cheese Factory (and enjoyed an ice cream cone : )
The weather was perfect, sunny and warm and we spent the next day sitting by the river enjoying the peace and quiet. They left way too soon but it was great fun none the less.

The lighthouse looks great. We might have to bring the kids there when we visit next.
