Shannon and Ethan came down to California (with the kids) last Tuesday to spend a few days visiting grandma and grandpa. That means more time with Zachary and Tyson! Wednesday was Shannon's birthday and she spent it enjoying Disneyland. She got in free on her birthday and had been waiting and waiting for this day to come. We met Shannon's friend Rachel at the entrance and since she works at Downtown Disney she got us employee discounts to enter the park. Zac and Tyson were ready to do Disneyland as you can see by the picture below : )
Zac was old enough to have a fun time on the rides. He already knows all about Mickey Mouse and Disneyland and was so excited when he realized that he would actually see Mickey.
When we first got there we had to get Mickey Mouse hats for the kids with their names on them.
Then we started on the rides. The lines were not very long on most of the rides so we got on quite a few. Zac's favorite movie right now is Peter Pan so he loved flying on the boat. Shannon and Ethan took him on the Autopia ride as well as Dumbo.
Chris and I did some babysitting duty with baby Tyson
(what a cutie : ) but he did go on a few rides with all of us.
Shannon's friend Sarah met us in the afternoon with her daughter Daphne. Zac and Daphne make such a cute couple! We ate lunch in Fantasy Land and Zac and Daphne went on rides together.
When Zachary met Mickey Mouse in Toon Town he was so excited! I think it was the highlight of his day.
Shannon got him a stuffed Mickey Mouse and it did not leave he side. (he even slept with it for the next three nights : )
One little interesting side note:
Shannon's birthday this year was September 9, 2009 so the numbers were 09-09-09!
We saw a boy at Disneyland wearing a custom t-shirt that read "I turned 9 years old on 09-09-09!"
It was a one of a kind awesome day!
