Yesterday I went to the annual Rose Hills Memorial Day Observance in Whittier. This is the
fifth time I have been and it was just as great as always. The patriotic band and singers started
out the program and after the prayer we had the keynote speaker. He is a minister from Whittier
who has a son serving in Afghanistan and he gave us a very moving talk.
Then it was the 21 gun salute and the playing of taps and finally the releasing of the doves. I love to celebrate Memorial Day.
I am so appreciative of my parents and their service in the military during
World War II and I wish I could tell them again how proud I am of them.
Thank you Mom and Dad!
